AUCKLAND PRESBYTERY.

The ord-nary meeting of the Auckland Presbytery was held last night at St- David'- Church, the Rev. J. Lamb Harvey,, moderator, being in the chair.. The Rev.. Si. JV At-_hß,. of Belmont, and Bey. A. M....Aspland,. of Knrre- Church,, Paxn__, attended for the first time, and were welcomed by the moderator; Subject to the approval or the Assembly's Home Mission committee., the following extensions of time were granted. Mr. George Jackson, Hobßonv2le; Mr. C. E. Perkin_, Manurewa; Mr. Stewart, Pokeno; Mr. J. H. Rnprecht, Warkworth; and Mr. EL McCracken, Morning Hide.
The Presbytery fixed the induction of the Rev. J. Enwright to the church .at Morningside, for November 25, the moderator to preside, .Rev- S. J. Atkins to preach, and Rev. D. G. Herron and Rev. A. M. Aspland to address the minister and congregation respectively. The Rev. George Budd was nominated, unopposed, as candidate for the office oi Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Chu_*ch. of Sew Zealand Mr. Budd is superintendent of tho Home Missions Committee..
The Moderator said the church would, do honour to itself if Mr. Budd was raised ta the position of moderator.
Mr. Budd said he knew he was nominated by North Auckland the youngest Presbytery. He thanked the Auckland Presbytery for similarly showing trust in him. He could not at present state what his mind was upon the matter.
The Presbytery also decided to extend an invitation to the General Assembly to meet in Auckland.
