UNAUTHORISED HOUSE.
BUILT WITHOUT PERMIT. I INSTRUCTIONS FOR REMOVAL. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WELLIXGTOX, this day. Another step has been taken by the City Council in regard to a cottage built at Kilbirnie by a well-known builder in defiance of the city by-lawe as regarde air space and clearance from other buildings. In the firet place the builder went ahead without waiting for a permit, and wae in due time called before a magistrate. He went on with the building, and the council refused to grant permission for the installation of water, drainage and electric light. The cottage therefore remained empty entirely surrounded by backyards, or very nearly so. Laet night the council directed that the property owner be instructed to remove a duelling erected at Tully Street, Kilbirnie, which doe 6 not comply with the by-laws, and for which no building permit was granted.
