SACRED HEART SPORTS.

JUNIOR RECORD BROKEN. BBADBURY 'WINS CHAMPIONSHIP. The seventeenth annual sports meeting, or the Sacred Heart College was held yesterday afternoon on the Domain. The weatner conditions were all that could be desired, and the large attendance of friends of the College and other enthusiasts present enjoyed a meeting which proceeded throughout without a hitch. The track being i a good condition for so early in the season afforded the lads an excellent opportunity to make good times. The senior championship was won by Bradbury with 48 points, who was a very prominent competitor in all the senior events. A feature of the programme, however, was the outstanding performance made by a junior lad named who carried off the majority of the junior events. McCarthy won the junior championship last year, but owing to the athletic rules of the school, although still under the senior age, he wag not permitted to enter for the championship again this year. Considerable excitement was caused In the junior hig.n juup, when the record of 4ft oUn was broken by both (iarvey and Donovan by a jump of 4ft <sin. In his final attempt to become the winner and record holder of the event, Garvey succeeded in clearing 4ft 7iu. During the afternoon, tea was provided, : and this, together with a band which was in attendance, put a splendid "finishing touch" to a very successful gathering. The results were:— JUNIOR EVENTS.
