Our Sports Special. WELLINGTON RACE RESULTS. AMATEUR GOLF FINAL. The curtain will be rung down locally on an extended football season to-morrow, and the cricket season will be opened next week. Chief features of the afternoon will be the opening of the Wellington Racing Club's Spring meeting at Trentham, the final of the New Zealand amateur golf championships on the Miramar links (Wellington), and the champion of champions League club match between Ponsonby and Richmond at Carlaw Park. Locally, a large number of bowling clubs are holding their official opening formalities, and the cricket dubs will engage in final practices. Special reports of all the chief events locally and abroad, as well as all the results, will appear in the "Star" Sports Special in the evening. The chief events of the day are:— RACING.
