The work of laying the land cable between the new repeating station at Seddon and t"ae mouth of Blind River, a distance of five, miles, 'for - the pturpoees of telephone communication between the North .and South Islands, was completed yesterday. The section of cable yet to be tested and jointed will be brought. into use; when the repeating apparatus iis installed at Seddon. The repeating apparatus will have the effect of amplifying tie volume of sound over the circuit. ' ' :
