LOSES LIFE WHILE FISHING.

WELLINGTON, Thursday.
The body of Dr. H. W. Pigeon, a wellknown city doctor, was found in the Maori Valley stream near Wellington to-day. The deceased was out fishing with a friend, who was seated in a motor car. He waited for Dr. Pigeon, and, becoming alarmed at his prolonged absence, organised a search party. At noon the body of the doctor was found in the stream. "I HAVE DROWNED MYSELF." YOUNG WOMAN'S DEATH. {Bγ Telegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, Thursday. A young married woman, wife of Mr. Patrick McGinn, was drowned in the Ashburton River to-day. A young man reported to the police at about noon that as he was crossing a bridge a woman who was at the water's edge called to him, saying, "If anyone inquiries for Mrs. McGinn you can tell them I have drowned myself."
An immediate search was. made, resulting in the woman's body being recovered from a deep pool.
CHILD DROWNED IN POOL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) MASTERTON, Thursday. Clarice Margaret Taylforth, aged two >eb,rs and two months, the youngest child of Mr. K. Taylforth,/of Fernridge, wandered from home this morning and was later found drowned in a pool, 3ft deep, in the Waingawa river. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
BOT SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Thursday. A boy, Welliam Gibbs, aged five years, who was knocked down by a motor car while playing on the road yesterday, died in hospital to-day.
