« Mr. T. B. Kemp, of Melbourne, is at Hotel Cargen. The Hon. George Fowlds was a passenger for the South by train last evening. Mr. W. G. Wohlman, Superintendent of Police, was a passenger for Wellington by train last evening. Mr. S. Dunn, Mr. W. A. Mitson, Mr. E. R. Fairbain, Mr. W. Halliday (Dunedin), are at the Grand Hotel. i Sir John and Lady Sulman and Miss Sulman returned to Auckland on Saturday, and are at the Central Hotel. Mr. E. G. Bush (Wanganui), Mr. R. Crawford (Christchurch), Mr. S. H. Williams (Wellington), are at the Star Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Bovd, Mr. A. Brown, Mr. H. L. Jones, Mr. G. W. Henderson, Mr. E. E. Hammond (Tauranga), Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Wilson (Whangarei), are at the Central Hotel. Mr. Esson is a member of the board appointed to value positions in the Railway Department, and has been temporarily detached from the G.P.O. staff ] for several months in order to permit of I carrying out his duties with the board.
Mr. Justice Herdman will leave tomorrow morning for Maungaturoto, where he will hear a compensation case. He will return to Auckland on Thursday, and on Friday will make fixtures for the criminal and civil sessions commencing ctti October 20.
Mr. K. Bowden, who for the past seven years has been on the staff of the Te Awamutu branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has been transferred on promotion to the Pukekohe branch. He will be succeeded at Te Awamutu by Mr. Harper, of Hastings.
