AUCKLAND CLUB. The third round of the E. R. Bloomtield Bowl was played by members of the Auckland Golf Club on Saturday. Combined with this was the first round of the 72-ho'e medal competition. There were 58 players, and tbe best card returned was that of H. W. Tidmarsh, 78—1—74. F. Macky becomes the holder of the bowl for the year with scores of 71 and 76, total 147. MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB Mixed bogey foursomes were played by members of the Maunakiekie Golf Club on Saturday. A large number of players took part in the match, which i 6 always a popular event. The winners were J. M. Hockin and Miss K. Horton, who, with a handicap of 10, were 1 down. The other best cards returned were:—H. E. Webster and Mrs. Banister (8), 4 down; M. H. Shroff and Miss Napier (12). 5 down ; P. Harrison and Miss Harrison (18), 7 down; F. Wiseman and Mrs. Taylor (13), 7 down; and E. Eddowes and Miss M. Burt (18), 7 down. MAUNGAKIEKIE LADIES' CLUB. GLENDOWIE LADIES' CLUB. The members of the above club hold their annual meeting at the Clubhouse on Saturday. There was a very good attendance. The following officers have been elected for the ensuing year:—Captain, Miss M. Hill; lion. sec. Mrs. Trice; committee, Mesdames Hill and Browne and Misses Friar and Arneil. The prizes were presented by the captain, Mrs. Browne. The flag match was won by Mrs. Browne, who holed out on the ISth green with four strokes to spare. She is now a senior and she is the first member of the G.L.G.C. to gain her seniority on tbe Glendowie links. The C grade match was won by Mrs. Hamilton. |
