ATHLETICS.
EDENDALE SCHOOL SPORTS. The annual sports in connection with the Edendale school were held on Saturday afternoon, when there was a large attendance of parents and residents, including the chairman and members of the school committee. A display of physical drill by hoys of standards 111. and IV.. and a pretty butterfly dance by girls of standards 111. and IV. were additional attractions. The sports were supervised by the headmaster, Mr. C. A. Semadeni and first assistant master, Mr. E C. Stretton, while afternoon tea was dispensed in the lower school by old girls and teachers, under the infant mistress, Miss Mahon. About £20 was realised during the afternoon Following are the results :— Basketball (Knock-out Competition).— Won by p. Fisher's team. Basketball (Past and Present).—Won by present. Hockey (white and blue).—Won by Blue. lootball (School v. Rest).—School won.
