BURGLARS IN A BUILDING.
j » i i WORK BAREFOOTED. I CLIMB THROUGH FANLIGHTS. ! MONEY STOLEN FROM TAILOR'S SHOP. I i A barefoot burglar, or burglars, was at work in Union Buildings in Customs; Street, next door to the Waverley Hotel, during the week-end. Last night it was discovered that the premises of Mr. Fallon, barrator and solicitor, on the second floor, had been entered. The main door of the suite of offices was left ajar. Examination showed that the burglar, or burglars, had gained entrance by means of the fanlight above the door, for footprints were left on the dust on the plaster walls. Every drawer in the offices was ritled. but the only booty secured comI prised a few dozen cigarettes. ! On the ground floor in the arcade ; leading from Customs Street to the rail- | way entrance, the premises of Jarrett I and Allen, tailors, were also entered by ! the same means, for footprints were left ' both on the outside and inside of the main door. The stock in the shop was pulled about and left in the middle of : the floor. However, no stock was stolen, i the burglars evidently being in quest !of money. The sum of £3 was taken from | a small safe, which was left unlocked.
