PROVINCIAL NEWS.

MANTJREWA AND DRTTRY. There was an unusually large attendance of members at the last gathering of the Manurewa lodge of the Manchester I'nity Oddfellows. Bro. H. King. X.G.. presiding. Bro. V\". Best. District Grand Master, was present, and gave a very interesting address on the progress of the Lodge throughout the Auckland province. Bros. Best tendered apologies for the unavoidable absence of other district officers who had been expected. At the conclusion of the evening's business an elaborate supper was provided by the lady meembers. A popular, dance brought the evening to a close, excellent music being provided by Bros. 11. W. Glbbs, C. Jamieson, and Rippon. In view of their imminent departure from the Drury district, Mr. and Mrs. R. Wild and family were recently tendered a farewell by the local football club. In presenting Mr. Wild with a spt of pipes and tobacco pouch, Mr. J. Brooks eulogised the past endeavours of Sir. Wild, as president of the club, in furthering the best interests of the game. He also referred to the long association of Mr. and Mrs. Wild and family with the social life and general progress of the district. Mrs. Wild was the recipient of a handsome silver entree dish. A very pleasant dance, interspersed with a recitation by Mrs. W. Alt. a song by Mr. Mills, and numerous musical games, comprised a popular entertainment. Excellent dance music was provided by Misses E. Sutherland and E. Ballard.
