No. 1. Below are a number of quotations from the world's authors, poets and wise men. In each word one or more letters have been left out and a dash put in in its piace. Each saying makes sense by itself, but no one sentence is connected with the other. Prizes of 5/, 3/ 2/ and certificates will be given to those who solve or most nearly solve them. 1. to hear. Prizes will be given, one to a boy and another to a girl, who, in the form of a letter gives mc the most interesting account of doings during the holiday period. No. 3. I am very anxious to know just which parts of Saturday's "Jsud«ef' are the favourites. I want yon to write down the nine features mentioned below in the order inwhich they appeal to you. Head your paper in the usual way and then put the features down in the order of your choice, but do not write anything else on the paper. Three prizes of 2/6 will be piven to those whose lists most nearly coincide with the popular vote. [Note: The list is arranged in, alphabetical order.] Do You Know? Our Mail Bag. Games to Play. COMPETITION RULES. 1. You can enter for as many competition* aa your age permits. 2. Every entry mutt be written in ink on one side of the paper only, and leave a margin of one inch on the left-hand side. Cut out the signature of Peter Pan and paste it on the envelope containing your effort. Without this no entry will be considered. 3. Use a separate sheet of paper for every competition, and at the top right-hand corner of every page Write the number of the competition and your full name, age and address. 4.. Label the envelope " COMPETITIONS" in the bottom left-hand corner, and address to " Star" Office, Auckland, and post or deliver »o aa to reach the office not later than Wednesday morning. These rules must be strictly observed. 5. Lastly, it is understood that PETER PAN'S decision is final, and he cannot enter into any correspondence upon the matter.
