I ■ £ 1 NEW ZEALAND AMATEUR TITLE. 3 The -New Zealand amateur billiards championship was continued yesterday. In the afternoon, F. Keefe and K. r Tate played a very even game, no fewer ' than 1289 points being scored. Tate 3 won by 43 points. He made breaks of • 21, 2.5." 29. 26. 20, 22. 20 and 21. Keefe ' made some splendid individual strokes 1 and battled gamely, making runs of 31, 1 28, 25 and 20. I In the evening C. Stewart, of Dunedin, defeated E. J. Morrison by 17:2 points. The winner, who relied inainh ' on the "red ball loser" for hie scores. played very accurately and confidently.
r Stewart's best scores were 61, 54 ,51, 3( i and 30, averaging 7.1. Morrison wai jj not seen at his best, and though occa c sionally he showed glimpses of what h< is capable of doing, played below hii best form.
