DAUGHTER'S SAD ORDEAL
DEMENTED THROUGH DEATH. SYDNEY, August 29. When neighbours made inquiry at the house of Mrs. Thoreau, an old woman, at Wyong, the door was opened by the daughter, who was in a demented condition, and stated that her mother was ill. The body of Mrs. Thoreau, who had been dead about six days, was found on the floor of the bedroom. She had apparently fallen and broken her neck.
The old woman's daughter, deranged by the incident, did not realise that her mother was dead, and she had been making: attempts to feed her. The unfortunate girl was removed to a mental hospital.—(A. and N.Z.)
