CARS IN FLAMES.
THREE DESTROYED. CHRTSTOHURCH OWNERS SUFFER. CBy Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, thie day. Fire proved disastrous to two local motorists during the week-end, when three cars were destroyed. In a detached vooden and iron shed used as a garage by Mr. G. E. Anson, taxi proprietor, of Linwood, a fire broke out at 3.57 a.m. yeeterday, and completely destroyed the shed and two limousines housed in it. Even though the fire brigade was soon on the scene, the blaze had such a hold on the building that little could be done to extinguish the flames. One car wae not insured, but the other was insured for f 175.
At 7.15 o'clock on Saturday evening the brigade was called to the corner of Fendalton and Jackson Roads to extinguish a fire which was consuming a motor car owned by Mr. J. L. StoneWigg, of Winchester. The-car was practically destroyed.
