GYMNASTIC DISPLAY.

V.M.C.A. BOYS' NIGHT. A very interesting gathering of boys took place in the V.M.C.A. Gymnasium last Saturday evening, in the shape of a junior gymnastic display and athletic meet, arranged by Mr. E. 3. Wilson (physical director) ana iit. Don Ross (assistant boys' work director). An exhibition on the horse was given by a picked squad of primary school boys, and physical drill by a similar team was very well received. A parallel bar and I ring display by the secondary school boys J proved a great attraction, and special mention must be made of the two Browns and Clif Tarris. Thrir springboard tumbling act was a fine example of what hard practice will do. Relay, obstacle, sack, and potato races proved exciting, both to the boys and some 300 parents who were present. During the evening Mr. R. Dyer rendered a pianoforte solo, and Mr. Lillicrap very ably officiated at the piano for all other items.
