WORKERS' HOMES EXEMPTED. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Friday, • When amendment* to the Families' Allowances Bill were introduced by Governor's Message in the House of Representatives, the Minister of Pensions (Hon. G. J. Anderson) explained that, as promised when the bill was in the committee stage, these amendments exempted financial assistance from friendly societies from inclusion in the assessment of earnings. Also the value of the home of the worker was not to be included. Homes were placed in the same category as they were under the Old Age- Pensions Bill. "Replying to a question by Sir Joseph Ward, the.Minister stated that the amendments increased _ expenditure under the bill by under £5000.
