BRIDGING THE WAITEMATA,
(Tβ the Editor.)
Sir, —-It would appear to be wise that after a thorough investigation of all suggested sites, a definite pronouncement should be made, preferably by the Main Highways Board, as to the route a bridge across the Waitemata would eventually take to give direct access to the city. Such information acquired now, and with a definite decision arrived at whether acted on now or twenty years hence, would be of much assistance to the town planning of the northern suburbs. Concrete roads are costly, and are laid down in the expectation of carrying heavy traffic for many years. A "bridge will mean the diversion of traffic from the present points of outlet, and some definite plan for. the future might ebviate the expenditure of much money which might la.ter prove to- be unwarranted.—l am, etc., E. C. WALTON.
