ONERAHI ROADS.
FUTURE CONTROL. AGREEMENT REACHED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAKEI, this day. At a conference between Whangarei County Council and Onerahi Town Board representatives, it was decided to recommend their respective bodies to accept the suggestion that Onerahi should be given control of its own affairs, separate from the county, and subject to the Audit Department giving approval to the proposed adjustments of finance as between the town board and the riding affected.
The basis of these, adjustments was discussed it length, and a report prepared for the local bodies concerned. In regard to the main roads, the proposal is that the board control the road from its boundary to the railway station, and the County Council (Manaia Riding) control the road from the turnoft* to Waikaraka.
