CHRISTCHURCH, thie day

Richard George Ellis (46), of Lin wood, died yesterday morning, when he was found with his throat cut with a razor. At about 10.30 a.m. his wife found him on his knees in the bedroom with blood streaming from his throat and a razor near him.

A doctor was summoned, but could only pronounce life extinct.

The deceased man was a storeman by occupation. He did not appear to be in good health during the past week. On Friday night he asked his wife for a razor. After breakfast yesterday his wrfe saw some blood in the dining-room, and upon following her husband into the bedroom found him as above described.
