A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
THE ROYAL SHOW. CANVASSING FOR ENTRIES. The executive of the A. and P. Association met yesterday afternoon, Mr. W. \Y. Massey presiding. Mr. Pascoe was appointed publicity officer. It was also decided to send a schedule to every breeder of pedigree stock in the Dominion. A inotipn to appoint a canvussor lor Auckland, - the expenses not to exceed £100, was-lost. However, several members of the executive offered to interview breeders and canvass entries. The chairman thought the move a good one, but considered the expenses siiouM l,e paid by the association. After a ehort discussion it was decided to adopt Miis course. The tender of C. F«ankham at £1200 for showground sheds w:is accepted. Mr. M. G. McArthur reported upon the negotiations with tile Government, touching the association's property at (italiulm. The Railways Department had taken a quarter of an acre of the property, but had paid no compensation and later took two and a-lmlf .icre-. which left the property without a frontage. Mr. McArthur said the Finance Committee of the association had considered the matter and recommended that no compensation be claimed if the Department constructe<l a road on the two and a-half acres, which would give a frontage to the property.
