EX-MAYOR HONOURED. Prior to the ordinary meeting of the Otnliubu Borough Council last evening a pleasing ceremony took place, when Mr. Alfred McDonald (ex-mayor) was the recipient of a handsome clock, suitably inscribed, as an appreciation of his services as Mayor for the period 1017-1921. The Mayor (Mr. R. B. Todd), in making the presentation, referred to the strenuous period of the wnr years when Mr. McDonald occupied the mayornl chair of the borough, and his untiring efforts in connection with the local patriotic efforts, the epidemic, and the Red Cross campaign. In this connection allusion was made to Mrs. McDonald's helpful and tactful assistance. After similarly appreciative remarks had been passed, by Mr. J. Atkinson (a former mayor), Mr. \V. Dinnison (ex-town clerk), and Councillor Clements, Mr. McDonald replied, thanking the Council for their gift and the speakers for their kindly references to both himself and Mrs. McDonald Although leaving the district, he said, time would not efface the memory of the pleasant associations he had formed in Otahnhu.
