RAPIER WINS AGAIN.

WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Wellington Racing Club's winter . meeting was continued to-day in fine weather and there was a good attendance. The course had dried up considerably and the going was much better thiin on the opening day. Wedding March Again. The bracket, Wedding March and '.I inoltnro, was made favourite for the ( orunna Hurdle Race, with Potoanui next in,demand, while Slump was at, a good price. titarshell was in front as they parsed the stands from Royal Form, Taitaiata, Slump, Potoanui, Wedding March, and Joy Ride. Along the back Starshell maintained his position from Tlr.yal Form, Projector, Potoanui, Slump, Wwldinj* March, Joy Ride, and Revel. Potoanui and Royal Form piloted the field across the top with Wedding March, Projector, and Joy Ride next. Wedding March and Potoanui came into the straight on terms, attended by Royal Form and Slump, and Wedding March, after negotiating the last hurdle, went on to win easily by a length and a half from Potoanui, which beat Slump by four lengths. Tinohoro, Gluement P.ovml Form. Prince Ferouz, Joy Ride, nnd Rehutai were next, with Alaric well last.

The Maidens. The Maiden Handicap saw all the arr-pptnrs to the post. Pangolin was installed favourite, being entrusted with about fifty more tickets than the bracket. Llandudno and Mint Leaf, while Waterlow, a Paper Money filly tliat run a good race on the first day. was next fancied. The race did not result ns the public anticipated for the little fancied Town Crier beat all the while Mister Gamp, an even greater cutsider, was second. When they straishtenpd up for home Schorr, Hypnotic Waterlow, and Hicullus, were in the firing line. Waterlow temporarily headed the field but Town Crier then challenged and won by two lengths from Mister Gamp, which beat Waterlow hy a length. Schorr, which is improving, Girribillie, Llandudno, and Hicullus were next. King Lv Nicely. Mireusonta was the public fancy for the Members' Handicap after the good race he ran for five furlongs on the opening day. Hoariri, which drew number one position, was nearly as well barked, while Merry Damon and Nine of Spades were also well supported. .Mireusonta, Nine of Spades, Hoariri, and Master Doon, were most prominent l on to the course proper, while Archeen oa.rne fast on the inside. King Lv came through at the distance and beat Master Doon by threequarters of a length, while Beaumont was two lengths away third. ■Archeen, Hoariri, Merry Damon, Royal Diadrm. Mirensonta and Nine of Spades were next. Several Falls. The Hack Steeplechase saw Merry Sin<rer installed a hot favourite, with Tlnkioi and Eonmark next best fancied. 7 7 onmark was the early leader . but Kaikikari, which is owned by Mr. E. L. Riddiford, tipped out early, while North Inch went at the third obstacle. Hypothesis was in nharee past the stands from Eonmark, Hokioi, Lady Comet, and .Merry Singer. Hypothesis then drew out and Merry Singer set out after him, but to erief. Lady Comet then moved up ;to Hypothesis and the pair had the race to themselves. It was a question of horsemanship in the last stages Holland outriding the gentleman rider, Mr. Baker, who was on Hypothesis, and winnine by half a neck. Hokioi was ten Icnp-ths away third, with Eonmark fourth. These were the only ones to finish. Rapier Again. The Parliamentary Handicap saw Rapier installed favourite, while Tanadees and Passionate were next in' demand. Kilia and Rapier were first to show out and they were attended by Fiouex, Olympic, Passionate, and Tanadees. Olympic took charge along the back from Rouex, Kilia, Rivalry, Rapier, Sir Pam, and Tanadees. Crossing the top and entering the straight Olympic still had a commanding lead from Rapier, Rouex, Passionate, and Tanadees. At the distance Rapier went up to Olympic and beat him by half a length. Tanadees was four lengths away, followed by Passionate, Rouex, Diamond Ring, Tame Fox, Kilia. and Arch Salute. Win for Comical. The High weight Handicap saw all the acceptors go to the post. San Fera, which was favourite, carried much more money than Comical, while Cureaform •was the next to receive most attention. Greekson was first to show out from Catcall, Kendal, San Fera, and Black Cruiser. Along the back Greekson was still in front, with Kendal, San Fera, Lady Gay, and Black Cruiser next. Crossing the top Greekson was still in charge from Kendal, Catcall, Black Cruiser, San Fera, and Braemar. Greekpon led into the straight from Lady Gay, San Fera, and Comical, and in the run home the last-named came through to win easily by a length from Lady Gay. which beat San Fera by half a head. Braemar, Crown Coin, Black Cruiser, Lucullent, Cureaform, Greekson, and San Fera were next. A Surprise. The Seatoun Handicap was contested by fourteen. Sir Moment and Mountain Jean were best fancied, while Elysianor and Tannadice also commanded support. Black Rock, Jubilance, Nucleus, Elysianor and Gardent were the leaders along the back, and coming across the top the order was Black Rock, Elysianor, Tannadice, Nucleus and Jubilance. Black Rock ]p»l into the straight from Elysianor, Gardant and Nucleus. In the run home Jubilartce and Nucleus, and Sir Moment, which came from a good way back, joined issue, Jubilance winning by a neck from Nucleus, which beat Sir Moment by a similar distance. Merle, Elysianor, Wilderness, Gardant and Kilris were next. Ruffles Easily. The Petone Handicap was contested by all the acceptors. Ruflles was made a very warm proposition, carrying over twice as much as Cultivation, while Whenuanui was next in request. Lady Ideal, Cultivation, Ruffles, Joy Bird and Sarty itxl on to the course proper. At the distance Ruffles drew; out to win by two

lengths from Lady Ideal, which beat SaTty by a neck. Cultivation, Piton. Red Courier, Wilderness and Highflowr. were nest. The Totalisator. The totalisator handled £47,680, as against £36,739 10/ on the corresponding date last year. The total for the two days was £97,620, against £73,3ti9.
