RETURNED SOLDIERS' ASSOCIATION.
I The ordinary meeting of the Returned i Soldiers' Association was held last evening. Mr. Samson Carr presiding. ; It was stated that the membership of j the association was steadily growing, : members recognising the useful work i which was being done. ' A gift of an enlarged photograph ol i the Imperial section of the X.Z. Expejditionary Force, taken at Bulford Camp, i England, in 1014, was received from Miss 'A. Harris. In accepting the photograph. ! members expressed the opinion that it \ would be a decided acquisition to the club room. ; Reference was made to the fact that some local bodies were giving preference to superannuated Civil servants against war pensioners. On the motion of Mr. S. C. Reed it wa3 decided that the matter be brought up at next meeting of the ! association.
