TERRIBLE MURDER.
DEATH OF A GIRL. SLAIN WITH HUMANE KILLER. LONDON, July 5. A shocking murder -was committed at Waltaana Abbey, Essex. The victim of the crime was a girl named Christina Cordell. She had spent the week-end with some relations and left their house to cycle home. Later the girl was discovered dead in a ditch. Her bead had been blown away by a "humane killer" used for slaughtering animals. A farmer named Pavett, a married man, has been arrested in connection ■with the tragedy.— (A. and N.Z.)
