In an address at the Exposition commemorating the 150 th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the President, Mr. Calvin Coolidge, said: "We live in an age of science abounding in . the accumulation of material things. j "These did not create our Declaration. Our Declaration created them. _ '"Things of the Spirit come first. ; I nless w e cling to that all our material prosperity, overwhelming though it may appear, will turn to a barren sceptre in our hands.
