UPSET IN SWAMP.
ACCIDENT TO MOTOR PARTY.
SLIGHT INJURIES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WArm, Monday. A party of Waihi residents, Messrs. W. Paterson, J. Shaw, and J. Clark, when returning from Te Aroha by car on Saturday evening, came badly to grief in the Mangaiti swamp. It was dark and raining, when the car suddenly swerved and somersaulted over the bank. Another Waihi party, coming behind, went to their assistance, and found Mr. Clark pinned beneath the overturned car. Owing to the yielding nature of the surface he was partially buried by the weight of the car, but he was got out with nothing more serious than a sprained wrist. Mr. Shaw was pulled out of a drain in an unconscious state, and was conveyed into Te Aroha In Dr. Laurence's car, suffering from slight concussion.
