TE PUKE. The Tauranga High School boys visite* Te Puke, and played the boys of the local High School on Saturday. The play was of a very fine order, and showed the result of careful coaching. From a spectators point of view the game was full of Interest. The local boys had the advantage in weight! but the Tauranga team, especially in thj backs, worked better together. Shortly after the game commenced McNaughtoa scored for Te Puke, and converted the try. Just on haif-time Barker kicked a goal from j penalty awarded to Te Puke. In the seconij half Barker crossed the line for Te Pub, but missed the kick at goal. The game then livened op, Tanranga pressed, and just missed scoring several times. Once their three-quarters got over with a fine try. Just before time McXaughton took the ball oTer the lin« and converted. The score wai 17 to 3. Mr. Bennett refereed. Paparoa juniors drew with Pongafcawa juniors, the score being S all. It was a willing game, but the teams showed signi of lack of team work. In the senior grade, after a good, Seen tussle, United beat Rangiurn by 3 to 0, TAIHAPE. A football match in connection with thi Lamb Hose Bowl- competition was played during the week-end at Mataroa, between Papanui and Mataroa, which resulted in l win for the former by 6 points to 3.
