GREAT PEACE PAGEANT!

SWEETHEARTS AND WIVES.

THE MARCH ON LOKSOS.

NO MORE WAR.

(By Cable,—Press Association.— Copyright.

(Received 11' noon.)

LONDON, June 20,

The women's peacemakers' pilgrimage to London was one of the most picturesque events of the century. Thousands of women of all ages and classes from every part of the realm, mothers, sweethearts and wives, inarched into London ij preparation for the great pageant.

Large numbers of these women were dressed in blue tabards and were wearing sandals.

Others wore blue coats having armlets on which was a device of a white dove carrying an olive branch.

The banners carried at the head of these peace companies were inscribed, "Law, not War."

The procession lent a medieval aspect to Hyde Park. There was bright sunshine for the culmination of this march which began a. month ago.

They came from the remotest districts and gathered strength as they got nearer to the metropolis.

Aβ they came they distributed pamphlets urging peace, and when at last the great mass marched into Hyde Park the innumerable banners by which the women were preceded showed how extremely representative of all portions of the British Isles the procession was.

A resolution was carried by acclamation on numerous platforms urging the Government to settle international disputes by arbitration and to take the lead at the League of Nation? Disarmament Conference to show that Britain does not intend to appeal to force.—(A. and iST.Z.)
