MISSING AIRMEN.

STEAMER SEARCH FAILS.

FALSE RADIO REPORT

(Received 10 a.m.)

RIO DE JA2STEIRO, June 20

The Brazilian Government has offered 1000 dollars reward for information as to the identity of the source of a false radio report broadcasted in the Argentine that the missing airman, Besnardo Duggan, had been found.

The steamer sent by the Governor of French Guiana to search for the three aviators, who have been missing for a week, failed to find any trace of them. (A. and N.Z.)

Bernardo Duggan, an Argentine sportsman, with two companions, arrived at Norfolk, Virginia, on May 24 from New York in a seaplane. They thus completed the first stage of a flight to Buenos Ayres, a distance of 6100 miles. The flight was continued next day, but the machine was forced down at Cape Charles, Virginia, and badly damaged. The personnel escaped injury. The flight was resumed when repairs had been made.

A message dated June 17 stated that the Minister of Marine had ordered two warships to sail along the coast in search of Bernardo Duggan and his two companions 5 . The airmen, who had been missing for several days, were flying from New York to Buenos Ayres. They were last seen over Cayenne, French Guiana.
