COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS.
ANNUAL SMOKE CONCERT
The commerciiii travellers' annual foolball match. Town v. Country, was followed in the evening hy dinner and .1 smoke concert. Borne eighty members attended the function, and n most enjoyable evening was passed. The president (Mr. J. Thompson) \v»s in the cfiuir. The usual loyal roast was honoured, followed by the " Country Team," proposed by Mr. J. p. Finlayson. replied to by Mr. 31. Watts- "' Towu Team '" was proposed l»y Mr. W, and Mr. W. Xoouan rosuoiuled. The toast of the
'• Kefer.ee " was in the hands of Mr. J. \V. Teniui. Mr. I'ciuborton. in responding, praised both teams, and spoke of the splendid spirit that prevailed' throughout the game. The following artists contributed to a fine programme, whirh lasted the remainder of the evening:—Messrs, J. McNish and It. 1-. Wilson (songs), Messrs. .J. P. Finlayson and B. Ifartman (recitations), Messrs, U. Tullerton and Kex Yates (humorous), Mr. Lawson (conjuring).
