A dog and cat laundry has been opened in Brockton. Massachusetts. An attendant calls at the home for the animals, and delivers them fully bathed, massaged and marcelled. The .chances of being executed in the United States for a deliberate murder are only one in 110 in favour of the slayer, figures compiled by Judge Kavanagh, Chicago, reveal. A survey recently completed by the judge shows marked contrast in the crime record of the United States and England, where a murderer has almost no chance of escape of the death penalty. Leee than one hundred murders were committed in England and Wales in 1022. while there were 10.000 in America. One of the reasons for the "amazing difference" in the records, for . America and Europe is the difference in the public altitude toward laws, .Judge Kavanagh believes.
