There was again fine weather for the second day of the Napier Park Racing Club's meeting, and the attendance was a large one. The course was in good orde"r. Favourite Wins Winter Oats. Tuabine «as favourite for the Winter Oats, witi Uuikai and Royal Diadem almost as ivell backed. Beaumont next in favour. Huikai. Jeanctte and Beaumont moved first and Huikai led to the turn, where Startle had a run-up, followed by Koodoo. Startle led round the bend from Huikai, Koodoo. Royal Diadem. Beaumont and Tuahlne. Huikai and Royal Diadem headed Startle into Lhe straight, wuere Tuahine challenged, others to be prominent including Beaumont. Koodoo, Road Hog. and Wristlet. Over the last bit Keed drore Tnnhine along, and she cut down tbe leaders to win by half a length from Koyal Diadem, which beat Beaumont by the same margin. Hifrhway was a solid favourite for the Poraite Hurdles, from Koauau and Brigadier Bill. The favourite flattered his supporters tor a mile, when he wag beaten, but be ran a fair rare. Merry Singer gained two or three lengths' advantage at the start and led all the way round from Eoncii-rk. Highway and Brigadier Bill. On the home bend. Brigadier Bill ran up to Merry Singer and Santiago, Good Sport. Eonniark and Highway following. The leading pair jumped the last fence together, and, in a bumping finish. Brigadier Bill pot home from Merry Singer by the best I part of a length Santiago ran on into i third place a couple of lengths off. and I then came Highway, Eonmark, Good Sport i and Koauau.
