(To the Editor.) Sir —Re the article in Saturday's "Star" Supplement, will "Huia" please giiiwef the question: Why pick on the United States? Is it done in ignorance or has it become tlie fashion? Whatever the cause, it looks mighty bad. Is "Huia"' aware that at Calgary, Alta, Canada, there is an annual rodeo or stampede held, and that bucking horse contests, steer roping and bull dogging are all carried on there under the British flag. Among the distinguished visitors and patrons of the Calgary rodeo is numbered no less a personage than H.R.H. tlie Prince of Wales, whose ranch is in the district. Surely, when a good sportsman like H.R.H. allows his name to be identified with the Calgary Eodeo, the Stories of "dehumanising cruelty" must be taken with a great deal of reserve.
