ANOTHER MAN ARRESTED.

AFTER BEING SHIPWRECKED.

In connection with the recent burglary at Onehunga, two men were before the Police Court yesterday, each being charged with breaking and entering the shop of Victor Speight, Queen Street, and stealing jewellery valued at £108 2/. After evidence had been heard one of the accused pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence, while the other pleaded not guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. This morning Francis John Tanner (19), who was arrested on a similar charge, appeared, when Senior Detective Hammond asked that he be remanded until Thursday next. Tanner, he added, was a member of the crew of the ill-fated steamer Manaia.

The remand was granted.
