HOSPITAL INQUIRY.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —Many months ago there appeared in your paper a statement made by the Auckland Hospital Board asking the Health Department to hold a public inquiry into causes of friction amongst its officials, also certain matters connected with their buildings. Later you published four articles dealing exhaus- ( tively with many aspects of the board's I administration. As the outcome of your efforts the Minister promised us a pub-; lie inquiry, but from that date (many weeks now) up to the present we have not beard another word about it. Is the matter dead? Does the Hospital Board and those concerned wish the matter to be smoothed over? There are many like .myself who are tired of waiting for the date of the inquiry to tn announced.—l am, etc., RATEPAYER.
