DUNEDIN, Thursday.

The light-weight champion of New Zealand, Les Murray, 9st. !J2lb., defeated Billy Chambers, Ost. 11 jib., ou a technical knock-out in the List round of a 15-round contest to-night.

Murray easily outclas-cd the visitor and came to light with a vicious right to the jaw, which nearly finished the fight in the second round. The local boxer fought with great freedom while his opponent's showing was awkward and almost amateurish compared with that of Murray.

In a preliminary bout T. Griffiths heat Eddie Ross in a 10-round contest that went the full distance. It was not a fight at all, Griffiths simply" playing w r ith the Australian.
