BOARD AND INSTITUTE.

TEACHERS' APPOINTMENTS,

SUMMONS DISMISSED.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day

Mr. Justice MacGregor gave his decision to-day regarding the application by the Educational Institute for an originating summons in regard to the alleged prejudicial effect of the Education Board's method of advertising for teachers regarding single and female teachers.

The matter, argued at length yesterday, was as to whether the institute had a status entitling it to take proceedings in such form, and as to whether it was a really capable mouthpiece of the teachers.

His Honor to-day dismissed the summons without costs on the grounds, briefly, that the form of proceedings was not suitable in the case of a body such as the institute, and that a concrete case of injury to a Veacher was not stated, but that general interpretation of the statute on a hypothetical basis had been sought.
