LIFTING A REPROACH ON AUCKLAND'S ROADS.

With an eye to the present and future needs, local bodies about Auckland are rapidly improving the condition of the thoroughfares, and lifting the ban which the disgraceful state of many of the roads deservedly caused them to be placed under. The Mount Wellington Road Board has just finished concreting two and threequarter miles of the Pa nmure-Otahuhu Road, and this morning started the actual laying of concrete on one mile and a-quarter of the main Panmure Road, portion of the artery from Ellerslie to Howick.
