NEWSTEAD HALL.

HAMILTON, this day.
The settlers of Newstead have, by volutary effort, erected a very fine public hall. It is 50 ft by 30ft, with a stage of 22ft by 10ft. There are ante rooms and the building is fitted with electric light, and has also an electric hot water 6ervice. It is valued at £800. The building was put up under the supervision of Mr. A. Crawford.
The Hon. J. A. Young, in a congratulatory epeech, declared the hall open yesterday afternoon in the presence of a goodly crowd. Meesra. Griffen and Hinton also spoke, and then Mr. Manktelow, one of the oldest settlers, cut the ribbon across the doorway. Afternoon t«a wae provided by the larlic* ••? the district.
