NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meeting of the council was held at the office of the secretary, Ms. G. O. Sutton, on Monday afternoon, when there were present: Messrs. R. Clement Kirk (chairman), J. B. MacEwan, W. E. A. GUI, A. D. S. Duncan, A. J. Abbott, and Captain Conway. . The question of limitation of entries for the open championship i.t Miramar (October 15 to 23), was fully discussed, and It was decided to limit the total entries (Including amateurs and professionals) to seventy-two. Professionals, as well as amateurs are to apply to the association for national handicaps! and the 72 entrants with the lowest national handicaps will be accepted. The report indicated that, owing to the steady increase in membership, the subscription payable by cluDs can now be reduced without bringing the association's revenue below the amount required for Its work.. The reduction to be proposed is by way of reducing the levy paid in respect of lady members from 2/ to 1/, which would mean that affiliated clubs would pay in subscriptions to the association nearly £300 per annum less than under the present rule. It was resolved to call a special general meeting of delegates at Wellington next month, so that the resolution, if passed, will be effective for the coming financial year.
GLENDOWIE LADIES' CLUB.
The following were the beet cards handed in for the L-.G.U. medal:—Mlse M. Hill, 111—34—77: Mies O. English, 109—28— 81: Mrs. Browne, 104—23 —81; Mre. Stanley. 114—32—82: Miss Hill, 115—30—85. "The play off in the eclectic medal was won by Miss O. English. The C graae medal was won by Miss Appleyard.
