ANNUAL EXHIBITION.
MOKE PICTCKBS THAN BEFORE.
The Auckland Society of Arts annual exhibition will be opened to-morrow evening with the usual members' conversazione in the hail in Kitchener Street. The Hon. Geo. Fowlds will declare the exhibition open, and an address will also be given by the president, Mr. H. E. Vaile.
There are 441 pictures on exhibition tide year, as against S7S in 1925. Included in the canvases are about 20 from Melbourne, among the artists re-
presented being Elliot Graner, who is very well known, A. M. E. Bale and Charles Wheeler.
The south of New Zealand is well represented by such noted painters as Grace Butler, Elizabeth Poison, Linley Kichardson, A. F. Nicoll and Ronald McKenzde. In the local exhibits one outstanding canvas is "The Long Trail," by Miss Beatrice Dobie. This exhibit wae awarded the Wembley Exhibition medal last year.
Reference will be made to-morrow evening to the death of Mr. David Goldie, who wae a vice-president of the society.
The exhibition will be open from June 10 to July 3, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from noon to 6 p.m., and on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 10 p.m.
