A TRAVEL-TIRED TEAM.
BUT STIIX OPTIMISTIC. LONDON, June 7. " Having a bad time now, but we will warm them up next Saturday" (first Test) # , was the comment of Australians while' wickets were falling at Bradford. Nevertheless, the collapse is surprising. The wicket was good, and there were no star bowlers. The Australians' failure on successive days has set the critics going. Discoveries of ne*w bowlers are becoming common. Saturday's bowling was well backed up by keen fielding. The coal strike is causing travelling
difficulties, and the team spent five I hours instead of three in getting to ■ Bradford. The last nine miles were comi pleted in a ehnr-a-banc. thereby saving further time. The team did not retire until 1 a.m. on Saturday. Stumps will be drawn at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, in order to allow the team to go to Sunderland. The players are well, but travel-tired.
