WOMEN'S CONGRESS.
GREAT GATHERING ENDS.
PARIS, June 7.
The congress of the International Women's Alliance for Equal Citizenship was concluded yesterday.
At the close of the proceedings Mrs. Corbett Ashby, president, in an interview, said it had meant a great deal to the congress to have Australian delegates there. Their presence had brought home to the delegates from all countries the fact that public life had been developed over the enormous continent of Australia by equal co-operation between men and women.
Their presence had also helped enormously to convert public- opinion in France at a critical moment in the development of the women's suffrage movement. France remembered the magnificent help which was rendered by Australian sottiers in the war. She now felt that the same spirit had inspired Australian women to come to help French women in their fight for the vote.—(A., and N.Z.)
