DAIRY PRODUCE EXPORTS.
DOMINION FIGURES. The figures of the Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture show that the salted butter graded for May, 19-20, was 2314 tons, and the unsalted nil, a total of 2314 tons, compared with 1845 tons salted, and 116 tons unsalted, a total of 1961 tons for May of last year; an increase of 18 per cent. For the ten months ended May, 1926, the respective quantities were 58,655 tons and 2818 tons, a total of 61,473 tons compared with 64,713 tons and 4558 tons, a total of 69.271 tons for the corresponding period of the preceding season, a decrease of 11.2 per cent. The cheese graded for May, 1926, comprised : White,- 2454 tons, coloured, 1599 tons, a total of 4053 tons, compared with 2635 tons white, and 1366 tons coloured, a total of 4001 tons for May, 1925, an increase of 1.2 per cent. The quanti-■tiej3-for the ten months ended May, 1926. were: White 46.250 tons, coloured* 26,209 tons, a total of 72.467 tons, compared with 45,073 tons white and 23,469 tons coloured, a total of 68,542 tons for the corresponding period of the preceding season, an increase of 5.7 per cent. Converting these figures into butterfat equivalent there is a decrease of 5.9 per cent in butterfat production for the ten months as compared with the corresponding period of the 1924-25 season. Stocks held in the various grading ports as at May 31, 1926, were: Butter 8992 tons, cheese 10362 tons, as compared with 3997 tons butter and 2917 tons cheese held on May 31, 1925.
