ROSE IN ENGLAND.
WINS ATLANTA CUP. THREE MILES OPEN RACE. LONDON, June 6. At the Essex championships sports meeting at Braintree Randolph Rose, the New Zealand runner, won the three miles open scratch race for the Atlanta Cup in 15.18 1-5. Rose played a waiting game until the last lap. when he came away, and won by four yards. The trophy is famous because it was won by A. *Slirubb for six consecutive years.— (A. and S.Z.)
