BLASTING ACCIDENT.
1 * i TWO MEN INJURED. ONE IN HOSPITAL. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. A blasting accident occurred at Houto this morning. George Williams was engaged blasting out timber posts when a charge prematurely exploded, setting fire to his" clothes and burning, him severely all over the body. His mate, a man named Bidwell, ■tanding near at the time, was also slightly - injured. The two men, though conscious, suffered severely from shock. A third man, who was milking in a shed near by, noticed their condition, and brought the injured men by car to Whangarei Hospital. After treatment Bidwell was allowed leave, but Williams remains an inmate, although his condition is not regarded as serious.
