AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE.
MORE IMPORTANT THAN SITE. STATEMENT BY MINISTER. (By Telegraph.—Frees Association.) DANraVIRKE, this day. When he was at Takarau, the chaims of Hawke's Bay in connection with the proposed Agricultural College were urged on the Minister of Lands by Mr. A. W. Cook, chairman of Waipawa County Council, and others. The Minister, in reply, said the difficulty of the eelction of a site was not what was worrying tbe Government so much as a decision a« to what style the University should take. Once students obtained their degrees they must make some use of them, and this was the difflcultv which confronted the Government. It was no use turning out from 50 to 100 students every year if they could not be absorbed into the work of the country. Legislation would have to be brought down to frame a sound scheme to work upon in connection with the Agricultural University, and this would be done. The question of site was really a secondary consideration.
