PROPOSED STOCK TRAIN.

RUATANGATA TO AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WHANGAREI. this day. At a meeting of the Whangarei Chamber of Commerce last night, it was reported that Mr. Thomson, traffic inspector of the Railway Department, had been in the district inquiring into the question of running stock train? between Ruatangata and Auckland, following a recommendation by Mr. Burns, station-master at Whangarei, that a shunting train should be sent to Ruatangata and return in time to connect with the 8 a.m. mixed train south for Auckland.

As a result of Mr. Thomson's Inquiries, this recommendation will be carried out.
