DAYLIGHT LIMITED.
AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT. EXTRA WAIKATO SERVICE. THAMES AXO ROTORUA LINES. (By Telegraph.—Tress Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. An official statement states that there bus been a considerable falling oil' in passenger traffic by the Daylight Limited with the close of the Dunedin Exhibition, and it is obvious that these trains cannot be run during the winter without serious loss to the Railway Department. They will, therefore, cease! on June •">, after which only the usual] two expresses each way will be run be-j tween Wellington and Auckland. In order to preserve the afternoon connection from Thames and Rotorua to Auckland, a passenger train Will run daily from Frankton to Auckland at the time of the present Daylight Limited. Improvements are beinir made in tha mixed train service between ilauugaturoto and Opua. It has been arranged to maintain the separate running of expresses on the Thames and Rotorua lines instead of amalgamating them for the winter, as usual.
